The department of Operative Dentistry plays an important role in establishing the fundamental concepts of dentistry to pre-clinical (3rd year) dental students in phantom head lab and clinical (4th year) students in the Operative clinic regarding diagnosis, and prevention of dental caries, as well as repair & restorative techniques for the treatment of teeth which have underdone tooth structure loss because of trauma, infection, or disease. The students are taught in a fun & nurturing environment.
Operative Dentistry encompasses the specialties of:
(a) Restorative Dentistry
(b) Endodontics,
(c) Paedodontics
Our paramount aim is to produce dentists who are capable of using their knowledge for attaining a pragmatic clinical practice. We desire to produce dentists who are consistent in learning and are competent in providing comprehensive restorative and rehabilitative treatment to their patients thus contributing to the oral health care system.
