The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at the University Medical & Dental College (UMDC) Faisalabad is a leading center dedicated to providing advanced surgical care, comprehensive clinical training, and academic excellence, including Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in BDS. The department specializes in the diagnosis and management of diseases, injuries, and defects involving the oral cavity, jaws, facial structures and neck. With modern infrastructure and expert faculty, the department offers a robust learning environment for undergraduate students, interns and postgraduate trainees.

Objectives

To provide high quality education and hands-on training for undergraduates in order to polish their skills to diagnose, evaluate, interpret on the basis of clinical examination, Laboratory investigations and treatment strategies of patients, so creating a sense of empowerment for their professional career.

Commencement of post-graduate training program enable them to evaluate patient by using modern diagnostic modalities and surgical treatment of broad range of complex Oral pathological lesions ,acquainting with operating room procedures.

Successful, consistence formulation and accomplishment of research program is carried by faculty and post graduates.

Surgical procedures categorized as exodontia (performed in dental clinic), minor, moderate and major surgeries (performed in OT) are done by proficient maxillofacial surgeon, medical officers and team of paramedics.

Students and house officers are bound to work and treat patients in clinic under strict surveillance of specialist and demonstrators.

Striving to achieve high level of patient comfort by following standardized aseptic measures, international rules by law and ethics, proper guidance and provision of pre-operative, during operation /procedures, post-operative care and facilities to all categories of pts.

Our department is well equipped with a Surgical Dental chair, surplus armamentarium required for simple and complex Exodontia, and minor oral surgical procedures, in conjunction with the central sterile services department (CSSD).
In order to deal with chair side emergencies, The blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter, ECG, and defibrillator, Portable oxygen, suction and lighting, Emergency crash cart are essentially available.
All major surgical procedures are performed in the operation theatre, in collaboration with the Anesthesia department.
Labs Attached
UMDC Pathology Laboratory, covers blood tests, and tests on urine, stools and biopsy specimens, interprets the results of blood and pathology tests to confirm diagnosis.
UMDC Radiology Department
Our Operating suites are incorporated with essential equipment and features to safely deliver anesthesia including, Air way armamentarium, Inhalation anesthesia, ventilators, monitors, oxygen and supplemental gas delivery system, recovery room.
Well-furnished Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery ward equipped with latest machines and monitors along with trained staff.
