11th Convocation 2025

The UMDC convocation began with a spectacular academic procession, as the brightest MBBS and BDS graduates, distinguished faculty, and honored guests filled the auditorium with pride, tradition, and anticipation. We celebrate not just the culmination of years of rigorous study, but the beginning of a journey where knowledge meets compassion, and graduates’ step forward to serve humanity with integrity, skill, and heart.

 

Behind every graduate in cap and gown is a family whose sacrifices, encouragement, and endless belief made this moment possible. Today, we honor both the dedication of our graduates and the unwavering support of the loved ones who stood by them.

 

 

 

Moments of pride and tradition, UMDC convocation commenced with a grand academic procession, led by best graduating students from MBBS and BDS, senior faculty members, distinguished guests and members, Board of Governors. Faculty members in ceremonial regalia and students filled the auditorium with an atmosphere of pride and accomplishment as the convocation formally opened. The event marked the beginning of a memorable celebration honoring the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our graduating class.

UMDC celebrated the Oath-taking ceremony of its MBBS and BDS graduates during the convocation, marking their official commitment to serve humanity with dedication, integrity and compassion.
Ms Kiran Fatima, Registrar, University of Health Sciences Lahore, administered the oath. Congratulations to the new doctors shaping a healthier tomorrow.

 

The 11th Convocation of UMDC was presided over by Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Islamabad who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Ms Kiran Fatima, Registrar University of Health Sciences Lahore attended as guest of honor. In his address, Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad congratulated the new doctors, urging them to dedicate their skills to serving humanity. He also praised the parents for nurturing their daughters committed to the noble cause of healthcare. Highlighting the global impact of Pakistani doctors, he expressed pride in their contributions abroad and the honor they bring to the nation. He further advised graduates to always approach patients with kindness and empathy, noting that compassion and good manners often aid recovery more than medicine. He emphasized that our religion Islam encourages excellence in moral conduct in every aspect of life.
The ceremony also featured addresses by Dr Muhammad Hamza Amin, Vice Chairman BOG, Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Malik, Principal UMDC and Prof Dr Arsalan Wahid, Principal Dental College, inspiring graduates as they embark on their professional journey.

 

The 18th batch of MBBS and the 14th batch of BDS graduates received their degrees. During the convocation, a total of 176 medical graduates were awarded degrees, including 135 MBBS graduates and 41 BDS graduates. Eleven students received the Saleem Gold Medal, 9 students received the Mukhtar Silver Medal, and 107 graduates were awarded the Amin Bronze Medal. MBBS graduate Kanooz Cheema and BDS graduate Badar Razaq were honored as the best graduates for outstanding academic performance. The occasion was marked by visible joy and pride on the faces of the parents of the new doctors.
