History Of UMDC

University Medical and Dental College

Medical and Dental education in Pakistan, since independence, has been the domain of public sector. Changing trends in medical education around the world and immense pressure of quality treatment has paved way for private sector to play its part in the field.
Despite being the industrial capital of the country, Faisalabad had only one public sector Medical College and only three major hospitals to cater to the health and educational needs of over 6 million people. Madinah Foundation, following the vision of its founder Chairman Mian Muhammad Saleem (Late) ‘Industry, Service & Education’, established University Medical & Dental College Faisalabad in 2003 (Medical College) and 2008 (Dental College) to fill this vacuum in medical and dental education in Faisalabad. Since beginning, the College has strived hard and under the able, dynamic leadership and guidance of its present Chairman BOG Muhammad Haider Amin has achieved unique honors and distinction, making it an important part of University Medical & Dental College history.

Madinah Foundation

Madinah Foundation established by the Group, is one of the leading charitable organizations in the country. Irrespective of any creed, class, caste or religion, the Foundation is serving humanity in the domain of health, higher education and social welfare as well as providing support to numerous charitable institutions in Governmental & Non-Governmental sectors.
So far, the Foundation through its own resources & without any help or support from any national or international agency has spent millions of Rupees towards various charitable activities in Pakistan. In pursuance of its vision for enhancement of higher education in Pakistan, sponsored the establishment of The University of Faisalabad in 2002. The University has been awarded charter by the Government of Punjab vide its ordinance No LX of 2002. It is offering academic programmes to attain high standards in education and to emphasize on subjects having high employability.

Madina Teaching Hospital

Madina Teaching Hospital (MTH) is a General Hospital with 600 beds, attached to University Medical and Dental College (UMDC), and The University of Faisalabad (TUF). It was established 30 years back with vision of commitment, service and quality healthcare delivery to underprivileged cross section area of our society.
It is recognized and approved by Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), University of Health Sciences (UHS), College of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) and Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) as a teaching hospital for Graduates and Post Graduate programmes. Hospital is licensed by Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC). Dedicated team of qualified and experienced doctors, nurses and paramedics are working round the clock to fulfill its mission towards continuous delivery of services and healthcare facilities among the ailing humanity. Being teaching hospital, it is providing state-of-the-art teaching facilities and infrastructure to the students of MBBS, BDS, PharmD, Physical Therapy, Optometry, Diet and Nutritional Sciences, Medical Imaging Sciences, Medical Lab Sciences, Dermatological Sciences and Nursing Programs.
