In celebration of the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, which marks the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W), department of Biochemistry, UMDC organized Intercollegiate Naat Competition on September 2, 2025.
The event aimed to promote love for the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) and provide a platform for young voices to express their devotion through the sacred art of Naat recitation. The competition held in Ali Auditorium, UMDC brought together female participants from various medical and dental colleges of Faisalabad. Participants recited Naats in praise of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) judged on voice quality, pronunciation, melody and emotional impact. Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF was the chief guest.
To ensure a fair and insightful evaluation, the event featured a panel of three distinguished judges renowned for their contributions to the field of Islamic arts and literature. Prof Ayub Bhatti, famous Naat Khawan, Prof Dr Mubashra Naz, Additional MS, Madina Teaching Hospital, Dr Naseem Sehrai, renowned poetess, Principal ALIZ College and Ms Ayesha Batool, famous Naat khawan were the judges.
In the competition the first prize was awarded to Ms Rabia from Punjab Medical College, second prize won by Roha Masood from University Medical & Dental College while third prize went to Ms Musfira from Punjab Medical College Faisalabad. Ms Khadija Yousaf from Aziz Fatima Medical & Dental College got a consolation prize. Winners and participants were awarded with prizes and certificates.
