UMDC Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Competitions

The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Faisal Bilal, Vice Chancellor, Faisalabad Medical University, as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, The University of Faisalabad, attended as the Guest of Honour.

A key highlight of the celebration was the Digital Poster Competition on the theme “Hidden Gems of Pakistan.” The competition encouraged students to recognize lesser-known Pakistani personalities who have made significant contributions to the country. Izza Eman, 4th Year, secured 1st Position for highlighting Parveen Rehman and her contributions to community development and social welfare. Bareera Saleem, 3rd Year MBBS, secured 2nd Position for presenting Dr. Saleemuzzaman Siddiqui and his contributions to science and research, while Ayesha Zafar, 1st Year BDS, secured 3rd Position for highlighting Miss Saima Saleem, Pakistan’s first blind diplomat. The celebration also featured an Independence Day Painting Competition, with Shamaim Zia, 3rd Year MBBS, securing 1st Position, Rohma Idrees, 3rd Year MBBS, securing 2nd Position, and Faria Naz, 4th Year MBBS, securing 3rd Position.

The event was further enriched by melodious Milli Naghmay and patriotic performances, along with inspiring speeches highlighting Pakistan’s independence, national identity, civic responsibilities, and hopes for the future. The celebration concluded on a positive and patriotic note, celebrating Pakistan’s rich heritage, remarkable personalities, and the creativity of its young generation.

Through such initiatives, UMDC continues to provide students with meaningful platforms for creative expression, character development, cultural appreciation, and engagement with important national values. The celebration served as a reminder of the sacrifices behind Pakistan’s independence and the collective responsibility of the younger generation to contribute positively to the country’s progress and prosperity.
