Since it was coined, the term "Work-Life Balance" has always been a topic of debate among professional intellectuals. As said by Stephen Covey, "The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule but to schedule your priorities. "Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid (HOD Dermatology) conducted a workshop on "Work Life Balance and Career Counseling" in which she discussed the concept of work-life balance and marked it as an important aspect of a healthy work environment.
She said that maintaining a work-life balance helps reduce stress and helps prevent burnout in the workplace because burnout causes fatigue, mood swings, irritability, and a decrease in work performance. It can lead to physical consequences such as hypertension, digestive troubles, chronic aches and pains, and heart problems. Senior medical students from MBBS 4th year and final year attended the workshop. Questions and answers sessions were also conducted by students in which they shared their concerns about future career opportunities within and outside the country.
