Facilities

  • The Department of Anatomy at University Medical and Dental College, The University of Faisalabad, is on the 2nd floor of the academic block. 
  • It is made up of knowledgeable and experienced professors. The teaching faculty is noted for participatory, student-friendly instruction. 
  • The Department consists of a large, well-lit, and air-conditioned dissection hall with multimedia capabilities, as well as skeletons, torsos, models, charts, and radiograms with X-Ray view boxes.
  • Mortuary is provided with specially designed refrigeration equipment enabling hygienic and cold preservation of the cadavers. Human cadavers are made available for dissection purposes for every new session.
  • Embalming room is well ventilated lighted, fitted with the latest embalming machines and tables along with wash and drain units.
  • Museum is well endowed with torsos, models, Charts and dissected specimens related to gross anatomy, neuroanatomy and embryology.
  • For student learning, the Bone Bank offers a significant collection of articulated and disarticulated skeletons, as well as X-ray, CT, and MRI films.
  • The histology laboratory is spacious and exceptionally furnished equipped with 50 Olympus binocular microscopes and imported Carolina series of slide boxes. A slide projecting microscope with LCD screen is also available to demonstrate histological slides in practical sessions.
  • In addition, the department has a research laboratory with a rotary microtome, sledge microtome, incubator, hot plate, water bath, slide drying plate, and dissecting microscope.
  • Departmental library is well stocked with the latest edition of all the required text, reference books and journals.
