Dentistry for BDS Students BDS students receive comprehensive training in preventive dentistry, oral-health promotion, and community dental care program planning. They gain skills in conducting oral-health surveys, analyzing community data, and understanding social and behavioral factors that influence oral health. Through interactive lectures, research projects, and community engagement, they learn to design and implement outreach programs and provide preventive services such as fluoride application and sealants. Participation in annual dental camps, school checkups, and field activities allows them to apply their knowledge in real community settings. Students also develop cultural competence, leadership abilities, policy awareness, and the capacity to work collaboratively with other health professionals, preparing them to improve oral health at both individual and population levels.
